The dates for the Board of Fire Commissioner meetings have been posted at
the stations. The Commissioners will meet this year on the 4th
Monday of each month at 7:00 pm, station 2 (SR 70 across from Verna
Bethany Rd) The
dates for the Commissioner meetings for 2009/2010 are as follows:
Oct 26th, Nov 23rd, Dec 28th Jan 25th, Feb 22nd, Mar 22nd, April 26th,
May 24th, June 28th, July 26th, Aug. 23rd, Sept 27th. (always
call ahead
to be sure they aren't cancelled or rescheduled before coming)

Break is all over! Back to school starts! Congratulations
to the Myakka Elementary school on the new cafeteria! And
Principle Shaw says that there will be NO uniforms needed for this

Drive! Florida Blood Services and MCFD will have the Blood Mobile
at Myakka Station 2 on Saturday from 9am-3pm. We have several
gifts, raffles, and giving blood gives you the opportunity to save

14th, Blood drive in Myakka City. Florida Blood Services will be
at Myakka Station 2 from 9am-3 pm on Saturday Aug 14th. Each
donor will recieve a FBS flip flops, a coupon for a FREE 1/2
gallon of milk from Dakin Dairy Milk, (must be redeemed at their store.
Donors will also be entered into a raffle for a cruise for two on
a Carnival Cruise Ship AND a raffle for a $20.00 gift card from
Sweetbay! MANY THANKS to these donors! Now it is your
turn- donate just 1 pint of blood, you have 10 pints in your body you
